Safe Area Simulator does not collect, store, transmit, or share any user data.
WHAT THE EXTENSION STORES
Your settings — the on/off state, inset values, the selected device preset, saved custom presets, and overlay options — are stored locally in your browser using the chrome.storage API. This data never leaves your device. It is not sent to the developer or to any third party. Uninstalling the extension removes it.
WHAT THE EXTENSION READS
To do its job, the extension reads the stylesheets of the pages you visit in order to find CSS declarations that reference env(safe-area-inset-*). This happens entirely in your browser's memory. Page content is not recorded, stored, or transmitted anywhere.
When a page uses a stylesheet hosted on another origin, the browser's security model prevents the extension from reading it directly. In that case the extension's service worker requests the same stylesheet URL with credentials omitted, so no cookies or session information are included. The response is parsed in memory and discarded.
NETWORK ACTIVITY
The extension makes no requests to any server operated by the developer. It contains no analytics, telemetry, tracking, or advertising code.
